HamsterBase#
This is a "read later" tool that supports Windows and Mac, and it allows you to highlight and take notes on web content and save them to Notion. It emphasizes local and privacy priorities, and all data is stored locally without collecting any information.
Coincidentally, a fan previously mentioned this need. They have bookmarked many knowledge content websites on their browser and want to download them locally for easy searching of the content. It can be considered their own knowledge base. However, they encountered problems when converting HTML to PDF.
With this tool, it becomes much simpler. First, we need to install a SingleFile plugin, which can directly download web content as a single HTML file, allowing you to view the complete web content even without an internet connection. Then, simply drag and drop these files into HamsterBase. If you find it troublesome, you can configure the API according to the official tutorial, so that whenever you use SingleFile to save web page files, they will be automatically added to HamsterBase.
If you want to search for something, just use the search box in the upper left corner. It will search the entire content. When browsing and learning, if you encounter something you don't understand, you can directly record notes and highlight reminders. In the future, the author may develop a browser plugin version, which should be more convenient.
