WebOS, a beautiful and convenient cloud storage mounting system with many features, can also build private and public clouds!

Today, let's get to know WebOS, which is free and open source, and supports almost all systems and devices. It can be used to build private clouds, public clouds, software running services, etc. However, these things are too far away for us beginners.

Let's mainly talk about how to mount a network disk on a Windows system using WebOS.
First, it requires Java 8 environment to run. However, many beginners don't know where to download it, and even if they go to the official website, they have to register an account, which is very troublesome. So, out of ignorance, I will provide a ready-made 64-bit installation package. Just double-click to open it and keep clicking "Next" until it's done.

Then, we open the WebOS folder and find the "start.bat" file in the "api" folder to start it.

Next, we enter "127.0.0.1:8088" in the browser's address bar, and it will open a configuration page. Don't worry about what it does, just click "Validate Database" and "Validate Cache" at the bottom, and set an account and password. Save it.

Then, a main page similar to the Windows 11 system will open. The usage logic is also the same as Windows 11. The applications downloaded from the app store are used within this WebOS system, not installed locally on Windows. There are many special features, so everyone can check the official documentation for more information.

Next, let's move on to mounting. Open "This PC" and select "Disk Management" to choose the network disk you want to mount, such as Alibaba Cloud Drive.

Getting the token is also very convenient. Click "Get" on the right side, and it will ask you to scan the QR code to log in. After that, it will automatically enter the token for you. We just need to set the network disk name and the specific directory to mount. That's it. Other network disks are the same.

After mounting, you can connect to the mounted network disk using various software that supports WebDAV on different systems.

Click "Settings" and "WebDAV Mount". Actually, the official website has provided a tutorial. Taking Windows as an example, we need to click on the download link first, and then right-click and run it as an administrator. It will automatically remove the upload and HTTP restrictions for you.

Then, right-click on the "This PC" icon on the Windows desktop, select "Map Network Drive", paste the WebDAV address, and enter the account and password you set to connect successfully.

This way, you can manage multiple network disk files and use software like PotPlayer and NPlayer to watch 4K original videos on your computer or other devices.

Of course, this is the traditional route for mounting software. As mentioned earlier, WebOS itself is a cloud-based system. With the help of some readers and players in the app store, you can directly view the contents of the network disk. In other words, if you only need to manage multiple network disk files on your computer without mounting, you can still do it in this WebOS. As for the user experience, everyone can judge for themselves.
